A native of London, Jes is the only daughter of Raj and Lena Choudhury. She was raised as a close family friend of the Guptas. Jes attended law school in Canada and eventually worked her way into McEnroe, Grassi & Avondale, one of Toronto’s top legal firms. However, she becomes sexually involved with one of her superiors, which ultimately results in the loss of her career there. 

 

She enters the series alongside her mother during Jai and Mala’s remarriage. Her arrival immediately draws Samuel’s attention as she decides to start over in Radcliffe, moving into Victory Cottage with the Guptas and opening her own law practice.

 

Jes later begins seeing Antoine Hall, though a lingering attraction between her and Samuel remains—despite Mala having made her disapproval of it very clear.
