Unlike her twin sister, Tanner, she had no plans to continue her education after high school and preferred to work her way up on her family's farm. When she found out about her father's affair, she rebelled by throwing an out-of-control house party where she got drunk and revealed what she knew about her father. though she was unaware of her mother's knowledge about the affair already. Since then, her father and she haven't been close, especially when his mistress, Tricia, moved to town to be with him. Lenny also started skipping school as well as losing her virginity to her best friend, Elijah Barker, who became her first boyfriend. Regardless, first love never runs smoothly, and they broke up at a time when she couldn't admit she loved him. Yet they had entered into "Friends with Benefits" territory for a time until they realized they were better off together as girlfriend and boyfriend.
She became worried when Elijah's drinking became a problem and helped stage an intervention for him to point out that he needed to stop. Unable to convince him of his ordeal, he walked out, eventually crashing his car while drinking and driving. He was later arrested for DWI and got a six-month suspension of his license. She was glad when he took that as his wake-up call and entered himself into rehab.
