Micah was introduced as a friend of Skye Park and the boyfriend of Gemma Grier. He is the son of religious construction worker Ray Kelley and nurse Livia Kelley and the older brother of his sister, Rachel. Despite his athletic ability, Micah rarely gets to show it, often sitting on the sidelines as a second-string receiver on the high school football team. This is made more difficult by the fact that the team is coached by Gemma’s father, as well as by teammate Kier Green, who never misses a chance to remind him of it, and by the pressure placed on him by his former football all-star father.

He has since become friends with Evan Sullivan.
