Prior to the start of the series, farmhand Sean Lockhart had been unhappy in his marriage to Louise and sought out attention from younger flight attendant Tricia Meyer. At the start of the series, it was apparent neither one of them was happy nor was only in the marriage to save face. 

However, it hadn't stopped him from being a loving father to his teenage twin daughters. So, when they discovered the truth, the two pulled away from him. It didn't help matters when he and Louise divorced and he moved on with Tricia, who moved to town. He and Tricia were soon married in Oahu, Hawaii, where they enjoyed their honeymoon as well. Yet he was angry when it was revealed that Tricia knew that Tommy impregnated Jordan behind his daughter's back. Their marriage took another hit when it came out that Tricia kissed Samuel when they were on the outs. After wanting a baby with Tricia, it is finally happening as the two are expecting their first child together this summer.
