The granddaughter of local bar owner Mae Jackson, Shauna graduated from college determined to make something more out of her life than the rest of her family. She also dealt with the on-and-off sexual relationship between herself and her best friend, Antoine Hall. The young woman soon received a job as an interior decorator to renovate Home Farm. That is where she met Max, with whom she at first clashed. But over time, they bonded and they started dating one another, much to the disappointment of Antoine, who still have feelings for her. Shauna received a position as an interior decorator at Covington due to her successful renovation of the estate. 

Max and she married aboard his yacht months later, in front of their friends and family. Yet the honeymoon didn't last between Max giving up on his photography success to work for Covington and Shauna being kidnapped by her uncle's ex-cellmate, Jerome Hawkins, and his associates. But the two have managed to fix their marriage by going to counseling.
