Falling in her father and grandfather's footsteps, Louise Saunders Lockhart became farm manager of her family's dairy farm. Despite the idyllic family scenery, it was learned early on that she and her husband, Sean, had an "open marriage" for a few years. But they decided to keep it secret from everyone else, including their teenage fraternal twin daughters, Tanner and Lynn. Eventually, she came to realize their marriage couldn't be saved and she filed for divorce, which her daughters took hard, especially Lynn, who took it hard by skipping school and losing her virginity.
Unlike the rest of her family, she was glad to see her first love Daniel Covington return to town. While Daniel wanted to restart their relationship, Louise decided they were better off as friends. She wasn't pleased to see her husband's longtime mistress, now wife, Tricia making a home with Sean in town.
When her father passed away, Louise inherited twenty percent of the farm.
Despite this, she found herself falling for supermarket owner Jai Gupta, with whom she is currently dating.
