JOJO'S CAFE
In Downtown Radcliffe on Main Street, customers were populating inside the newly-renovated Jojo's. From the furniture to the state of the art appliances were all brand new. The establishment feels more atmospheric and spacious than it has been in years. At the moment, Khalid's Talk is playing on a Sirius XM station over the sound system. The cafe's newest manager Tricia Meyer does her best to make sure her staff winds down the long line that has formed with patrons placing their orders of beverages and baked goods. For the past fifteen minutes, she finds herself pleasantly smiling and offering apologies for individuals lately receiving their items.

She is standing behind the counter in an Armani white sleeveless ruched-front jersey top with grey slacks, and her brownish-blonde hair is in a ponytail giving her a business-casual image. All she could think right now is that they wouldn't be so crowded if Janie wouldn't have had that bad hot dog she bought from the gas station yesterday she would've been another helping hand. Janie is an eighteen-year-old girl who is attending Sampson in the fall who was hired as a part-time barista. She called in a few hours ago saying she was too ill to come in today. Tricia told her to get well, whilst she wanted to ask why would any sane person eat food from a place you get gas.
Tricia sees a guy waiting behind the other counter where customers can pick up their items. And from the look on his face, he is not too happy.
"I've been standing in line for a venti coffee I ordered five minutes ago," he says in a bit of a huff.
Thankfully one of her other baristas passes the take-out cup of coffee to her with the guy's name scribbled in black marker. "Sir, I like to apologize for the wait it's just been a little crazy around here since we opened just about."
The guy in his forties with a head full of salt and pepper hair wearing a suit and tie holds the cup in his hand. "I bet if I were a married man, you would've hurried my coffee over to me."
"Thank you for your patience please come again," Tricia says.
She does her best to retain peace knowing eyes our upon on her, and some might expect her to fail. Knowing that her background of sleeping with Sean when he was married is public knowledge in such a small town.
The guy takes off through the crowd out of the door.
"Asshole," she mutters to herself.

Outside out of the café on a sun-soaked early afternoon Courtney Covington shake hands with the female television reporter who had got done interviewing her on camera about how she came to acquire the café under the Covington Group umbrella. The segment would be seen tonight on the evening news.
The reporter and the cameraman decide to get some additional B-Roll.
Courtney sees Martha Saunders pushing the stroller across the street. She maneuvers it closer to her on the sidewalk in front of the café.
"Hi," Courtney greets her.
"Hey, Courtney"
Courtney bends down to see Martha's six-month-old son SJ consumed with his miniature stuffed giraffe. "Hello cutie," she lifts her head. "He is getting so big."
"He is," Martha replies. "Uh, I should warn you, " but before she could say anymore.
Steven Sullivan crosses the street with his keys in his hand.
The veterinarian hadn't prepared to run into his girlfriend at the moment. The two have had a disagreement and hadn't spoken to one another since it occurred.
Martha rightfully picks up on the tension between her cousin and his lover. "You two need to talk it out, let's go, baby," Martha remarks encouragingly. A customer holds open the door for her to get in with the stroller.
"You look good," Steven admits aloud.
Courtney has on a Versace caramel yellow printed silk wrap dress showing her muscular yet feminine arms.
"Thanks, about what happened,"
Steven waits for a group of friends to be out of earshot of their conversation.
"I owe you an apology, I took out my issues about Tricia on you, and it took for someone to make me realize that I was being unfair."
Courtney thought she would have to do some more convincing to him about her hiring Tricia to manage the café was the right thing to do even if she slept with Sean when he was married to Louise.
"I remember what we promised each other about letting nothing come between us. "You might be significantly older than me but that does not give you any right to tell me who I should or should not do."
Steven wipes a few beads of sweat from his forehead. "Would it help if you called me a bastard or slap me across the face."
Courtney does her best not to appear like she is laughing. "There is always next time."

They both embrace one another their lips land one another's before they enter into the café themselves.

In the air-conditioned café, Shauna, along with her fiancé Max, his teenage brother Tommy, Tanner, Elijah and Lynn were all taking up the newly renovated lounge area with a plush couch and leather chairs.

"So when are you two getting married?" Tanner Lockhart inquires her boyfriend's older brother and lifelong family friend.
Shauna is sitting on Max's lap in the chair looks at him then back to her. "YTD, I still can't believe I'm going to be someone's wife."
She also still can't believe that she had nearly full autonomy to decorate the café to her liking. And she overheard compliments of the nice interior from customers. Last year she would've never dreamt of working as an interior decorator at a Fortune 500 company. Let alone being engaged to the son of that company's CEO.
Max Covington begins humming the first few notes of the Wedding March. "Since we're on the subject, Tommy wanna be my best man?"
Tommy Covington seems awestruck. "Yeah, I'll be at your service until you say I do."

Elijah Barker notices that his girlfriend hasn't taken her eyes off behind her.
"Don't let her get to you," Elijah warns her.
Lynn Lockhart sees the woman who wrecked her parents' marriage and is now living with her father.
"I can't stand that bitch," Lynn says a little to louder that was required.
Tanner snatches a glimpse of her father's mistress handing over a bag of bagels to someone. "Ignore her like I'm trying to do Lenny,"
Lynn once again looks at Tricia, but this time she is looking back at her.
Tricia is not only happy to see the line finally dwindling down. But to see her lover walking in the door too.
"This place is packed," Sean Lockhart marvels.
"You should've been here twenty minutes ago it was like freaking Disneyland."
Tricia comes over the counter to smooch her boyfriend.
Courtney carefully walks closer to the two of them not wanting to interrupt them.
"How is it going?" she asks, feeling like a headmistress checking in on her students.

Tricia licks her lips before answering. "Your father will be one happy man when he finds out how much money we've already made."
"I think I'll be the judge of that," a male's voice echoes through the crowd.
Daniel Covington approaches them with his hands at his sides. He is still not keen on a woman who came in between his friend's marriage is running his place of business no matter her qualifications our.
"Sean, Tricia," he says cordially
"You can see for yourself Daniel, Tricia is doing a good job," Sean reports. Sensing that he isn't sure of her prowess as a manager.
"It's a miracle," Daniel cries out sardonically.
"Dad!" Courtney interjects. She heads out of the way with her phone glued to her hand.
Boldly, Tricia paces up to her new boss having read about him throughout the years in magazines and tabloids. "I know you don't think much of me like half of this town doesn't, but please don't take it out on your daughter."
"Excuse me?"
Tricia remains peaceful which he is making it quite difficult with his stubborn nature.
"All I'm trying to tell you is don't let any problems that you have with me or your own issues affect your relationship with her."
The chirp of Courtney's iPhone gets her attention. The text she read is the last thing she wanted to see today. "Oh great,"
"Anything wrong?" Sean asks
"Yes there is,"

Antoine Hall spots Shauna laughing at Max who is sitting on his lap.

Courtney had invited him to come to the grand-reopening at her mansion the other day when they all found out that they were getting married. Hitting him out of the blue. He is aware that he is being unfair because he has Nichelle now whom he actually does care about as more than a friend.
Shauna turns her head to see her old friend and former lover. She waves at him.

Antoine sees Max trying to grin and bear him being in his presence. The two aren't exactly friendly toward each other, especially since he told him that he had sex with her years before he even knew her.

"Yeah I need to holla at you alone, Max you don't mind?" Antoine asks over the noise of other conversations taken place inside of here.
Shauna gets out of the chair along with Max behind her.
"I do mind, but I know my fiancée values you as a friend."
Max steps away, leaving the two of them to talk.
"What's going on?"
Antoine strokes his goatee. "This is hard for me, I know how you feel about me, and you know how much I care about you," he said. I wish you luck in your engagement with Maxie."

Taken aback by his statement, Shauna puts her hands on her hips. "You always knew how to surprise me don't you."
A song by Ariana Grande ends when Martha, along with Steven, is sitting down at a table. SJ is sitting in a high-chair being fed mashed carrots by her.
"So glad you two sorted out your issues," she tells her cousin.

"Me too,"
SJ giggles in between getting fed.
"'Even little man got tired of me going on about Courtney." Steven chuckles.
The clicking sounds of heels arrives before Courtney does. Panic is written on her face.
"Hey guys, I got an emergency,"
"The band I hired to perform here is stuck at Philadelphia International and won't be able to get back here anytime soon."
"That's terrible," Martha remarks.
"Anyway, I was hoping that maybe you can help me out by getting on the stage to sing something, anything you'll be helping me out." Courtney pleads with her.
Martha looks down at her son, who has his finger in his mouth.
"I haven't sung in a long time," Martha nervously answers.
Martha had backburned her aspirations of music stardom when she got pregnant last year. She decided to put the care of her son over trying to pursue singing full time again.
"I'm going to need my guitar." Martha proclaims
"I'll go home and get it for you," Steven says voluntarily.
"Isn't he the best," Martha humorously states
"He sure is, and Martha I owe you," Courtney says before dashing off.
