Last Time on Town and Country

The twins threw a unsupervised house party where we were introduced to their lifelong best friend- Elijah Barker and former friend-turned popular girl Jordan McKnight.

Esther and Daniel made a pact that if she got Steven and Country to break up then Daniel would fork over his shares of Franklin Farm Ltd.

Lorraine agreed that Steven can take Evan to spend the night out at the farm.

Sean was stunned to find out that both of his daughters knew he is having an affair and then took off to be with his mistress.
RADCLIFFE HIGH SCHOOL
Students from the junior and senior classes were pouring out of the three-story brick building on a very hot late summer afternoon. Lynn and Tanner Lockhart along with their best friend Elijah Barker were walking towards the student parking lot behind campus.
The three were leaving student orientation and decided that they will go to JoJo's Café to hang out together since Elijah's grounding for coming to the twins unsupervised party is finally over.

"That was two hours I'll never get back." Lynn complains.
​
Shaking her head at the thought that they spent hours in the auditorium to hear the same policies and instructions to be lectured to them, for now, three years in a row.
​
"I thought I already had gotten enough punishment from my mother." Elijah replies.
​
Elijah is the only child of Radcliffe High School principal Brynn Barker. He has logged in more hours constantly listening to everything she wants to implement this school year.
​
The three of them get into the twins Fiat. Tanner sits in driver's seat. "Well at least we have each other this year, " she says in an optimistic point of view.
Secretly she is looking forward going back to school in a few weeks time. After the unforgettable summer, she had this year she is actually to start her junior year. She'll be focusing on taking the ACT, playing the first violin in the school orchestra, and finally being able to be qualified to audition for the Berklee College of Music Summer Course for next year. Berklee is one of the best schools for music and she plans to attend there after graduating high school.

Lynn's iPhone rings with the ringtone of Drake's In My Feelings. She is curious to find out who is calling her out of the blue.
But soon as she sees the name display on the screen she thinks about ignoring it but knows they'll call back again. So she decides to be the bigger person and answer it.
​
"Hello," --- I can't right now I'm hanging out with Tanner and Elijah --- No! All right I'll be there soon. " She then hangs up the phone it takes the last of her self-control to not throw the phone out of the window entirely.
"What's wrong ?" Elijah asks from the backseat.
​
Tanner didn't even have to know the answer she knows that it is the only person that can make her twin sister upset right now.
​
"Switch with me I'm driving. I'll drop the two of you off and meet up with y 'all later. "
​
Unbuckling her seatbelt, Tanner observes Lynn's face knowing she would rather walk on glass than to go meet with this certain person.
THE CHATEAU
Sauntering into the restaurant during the afternoon, Esther Saunders is grateful that brunch isn't overcrowded like it usually is here.
She takes a seat at the bar where she is the only customer there. She is then greeted by a male bartender who asks for her drink of choice which she tells him a martini. She then thanks and pays him before he takes off again.
Taking a drink out of the glass, her face lights up with excitement thinking about how her plan of breaking up her son and his young girlfriend is coming to fruition since she decided to persuade Lorraine to bring Evan to town knowing Courtney wouldn't be able to put up with her boyfriend having a five-year-old son.
So when her ex-daughter-in-law and grandson came to the dinner party a couple days ago, Courtney didn't even know he was formerly married nor a father. And even though she hadn't got the confirmation that the two are officially over, she cannot imagine Courtney continuing to date her son anymore. She'll get those shares and her along with her brother will have equal control of Franklin Farm's business dealings.
​
Esther then takes out the toothpick with olives on it and bites into one of them. Of the corner of her eye, she sees Daniel coming her way. She wished she would've seen him earlier because she would've dashed out.
​
"Hello, Esther, Is this seat taken?" Daniel Covington asks in the way he talks would talk to a subordinate at his company.
​
"If I'll tell you no, will you leave me in peace?" Esther asks already knowing the answer.
​
Daniel then sits down beside her. "Let me guess you were the one responsible for bringing in your son's ex-wife and offspring to town. "
​
Esther grins. "I told you that I will get that 20 % from you by any means necessary." she then takes another sip of her cocktail.
​
Daniel is quite impressed that Esther went those lengths in order to get her little hands on his shares. He knows that his daughter is heartbroken after being lied to by Steven. Nevertheless, he would rather have her experience this pain right now than six months or a year into their relationship.
​
" So please tell me that your dandy wine lawyer is drawing up the paperwork to give those precious shares to me? " Esther says in a way that doesn't sound needful.
​
Daniel receives his glass of club soda knowing he is having a lunch meeting with a potential client later on" I will put it on my to-do list. "
She wasn't sure if he was taking her seriously or is he just bullshitting her?
HOTEL CLIFFE : GYM
In a hotel in this town, Lorraine Sullivan wasn't that astonished to discover that the gym is a corner room on the first floor, consisting of a lowly treadmill, dumbbells, and a blue medicine ball on the ground. Her ensemble of a black tank top and stretch pants were the nicest thing in the gym at the moment.
​
Since Evan is spending the night with Steven, she decided to work out for the first time since she gotten to Radcliffe.
Whilst, in the middle of an arabesque, her phone rings. She gets out of that position, quickly grabs her towel to wipe the sweat off of her. On the fourth ring, she hastily picks it up.
"Hello," she answers.
FRANKLIN FARM : MAIN HOUSE
Lynn made it out all the way out to the farm after dropping off Tanner and Elijah at JoJo's. She then steps into the kitchen where she sees the person who called her already sitting at the table waiting.
​
"Hey, Lenny, " Sean Lockhart greets her. He has on his usual working clothes he decided to take his lunch hour to talk with his daughter about her actions and other matters too.
​
" What time did you get back from your ho?" Lynn asks half-heartedly. She hadn't seen her father since he left to go spend time with the other woman he is having an affair with.
​
Sean inhales than exhales at her comment. "Earlier this morning, and please don't call her that --- she's --- "
​
"She's what? Dad, the best thing that ever happened to you? Cause if you say that I swear I will scream." Lynn tells him. She does not appreciate him defending the woman he is cheating on with their mother whom he promised to stay faithful too for the rest of their married lives.
" Keep your voice down." Sean says in a hushed tone. He does not need the rest of the family to hear personal familial business out in the open.
"Then keep your pants up," Lynn said.
​
"Lynn, stop it, that's enough. I know that you're angry and I understand. But you not only threw a party without me or your mother's permission, you got drunk and now you're disrespecting me your own father. I raised you better than this, now I'm the parent and you're the child, you'll show me some respect. "
​
Part of him feels bad that the twins only knew half of the truth. They're unaware of him and Louise having an open-marriage because of his initial affair.
​
She shakes her head, putting strands of her long blonde hair behind her ear. She is silent for a few moments then rolls her eyes.
​
"How did you even know about this situation in the first place?" he wonders.
​
"Ask your other daughter." Lynn says. " By the way hide your cheating better next time, " she tells him. She then leaves the table and turns to her feet to leave.
​
Sean stands up and shakes his head knowing he is responsible for the destruction of his family.
​

JOJO'S CAFE
Wait by Maroon 5 is playing within the café, as Tanner returns from the counter with a large coke for Elijah and an iced tea for herself to the lounge area where they're sitting on the sofa.
"Are you okay?" Elijah says
​
"Why?" Tanner asks
​
"You're forgetting not only that I can read minds, but I've been your friend since we were four, so it is easy for me to know when something is bothering you. So out with it, " he said.
​
Tanner trusts Elijah with her life but she does not want to tell him about her private life right now. Besides she is still trying to wrap her mind around her father can be a man that can sleep with another woman. Just as Tanner can find something to tell him. Jordan McKnight walks over to them wearing a white sleeveless illusion lace and tulle dress and heels. As usual, she is dressed like she is going to a nightclub. She is looking around the area like she lost something of value.

"What the hell are you doing Jordan?" Elijah queries
​
"Just checking to see if you told everyone else to leave too Tanner. " Jordan says.
​
"The party was getting out of hand and you bringing booze did not help either. " Tanner defends herself for trying to end the party before anything bad can happen.
​
"Because of your parents calling my dad, My dad took my car for two weeks " Jordan informs them like it is their solely responsible for her predicament. Her father who is also the chief of police is a strict man who runs his household like the Radcliffe Police Department.
​
"And that's our fault because? Look you weren't the only one that got into trouble I did too, in fact, my sentence was only lifted today. Where is your shadow by the way?" Elijah asks referring to her best friend Mariana Anson.
​
"She is on vacation with her family until Labor Day." Jordan explains. She sounds as if she is lonely without her co-conspirator.
​
"Since we only got two more years of going to school together can we try and find some common ground?" Tanner asks hoping that she can tap into the girl who once was her close friend years ago.
​
Jordan grips her purse strap and takes a sip from her latte. "Nope I don't think so." she then takes off out of the door where she nearly bumps into Lynn.
​
"Excuse you!" Lynn shouts at her. She then locates her twin sister and best friend. "Do I want to know what happened here?"
"Nope," Tanner and Elijah say in unison.
​

THE CHATEAU
Lorraine remembers the first time she came to this restaurant, it was three years ago with Steven, the two were still married and he told her that they had the best key lime pie in all of Kentucky. At first, she thought that he was exaggerating. But when she had the first bite of the dessert, she realized that he wasn't lying to her at all.
​
Usually, as a ballet dancer, Lorraine is watchful of what she puts in her body. Yet, she decided that today she was going to give into temptation sort of speak. So after consuming a slice of the delicious key lime pie and a glass of prosecco. She now finds herself a few feet away from the door when she replays the conversation she had earlier during her workout at the hotel gym.
​
"Hello"
"Hello, Lorraine, it's Kitty, Can you talk for a minute?"
​
Kitty is the resident choreographer of the Lexington Dance Company. Already Lorraine is guessing to why she is calling her knowing she took a few days off which she already knew?
​
"You know that we're getting ready for the big show right? Kitty asks more of a question than an actual fact.
​
"Yes,"
She has a feature role in this production.
"We decided that we're going to take the show in a totally different direction."
​
If she could see her face at that time she probably isn't hiding her confusion.
"Meaning What?"
"Meaning, you won't be part the show this year. I'm so sorry and if you want to take more days off then please do. "
​
Lorraine could feel the tears forming, she has never been the type to cry as she shakes her head to make the water in her eyes cease.
She then hangs up the phone call.
​
For a while now she has been fed up performing at the company altogether. But with a young son, she can't take the time out to constantly audition. Especially knowing that certain dance companies aren't looking for an aging ballerina that might have a year or two left to perform professionally. She knows many dancers that hung up their pointe shoes at a younger age than she is now. She just never thought she might have to consider giving up everything she has worked for might be slip away from her.
​
Being consumed in her own thoughts, she hadn't realized that was someone was in front of her. Until the other person's file fly out of their possession and papers begins to land in different areas near them. She can feel the eyes of diners looking at the scenario playing out in front of the two of them.
Lorraine scoops down on the ground to help pick up the papers that were now on the floor.
"I'm so sorry, let me get these. "
"Thank you … I. " The other person looks up and realize they know Lorraine.
Lorraine also lifts her head, seeing the person she ran into.
Courtney Covington quickly gathers the papers she then gives her boyfriend's ex-wife a look. " I think we need to talk, don't you?"
